Curriculum
History
Yoga is a universal art, which flourishes whenever a person is dedicated to higher values, to a way of life of inner joy and outer harmony.
The great teachers or gurus who were the originators of the great yoga tradition often lived in community and explored and worked together A and in this way developed methods and techniques as well as moral and ethical guidelines which up until this day comprise the teachings of yoga.
Philosophy
Students will dive deeper into Yoga Philosophy with Maharani Jay Bhakti Goswamini. Who leads us lovingly through the sacred teachings of The Bhagavad Gita, A Poem for the Soul.
Exploring our ethical practices through the teachings of The Yamas and Niyamas gives students space and grace in a grand exploration of self love.
Anatomy
Students will learn basic Anatomy and physiology in relation to a yoga practice and in depth look at how somatic and tensegrity play a key roll in yoga and movement practices.
A review of the bodily systems and organs( including fascia ) and the energy systems will be reviewed and how they relate to your body in a yogic capacity. Students will learn the science behind the chakras, Nadis, Vayus, Koshas, and more.
Intelligent Sequencing
Students can expect to learn how to teach to dynamic groups and to special populations such as Seniors, children and pre-natal clients. They will learn what to expect in a multi-level setting and appropriate communication skills for the setting. Students will learn time management of setting up a class and safe and appropriate principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting. Students can expect to provide written lesson plans which will include benefits, contraindication, modifications, for our designated six basic poses of yoga.
Personal Development
Students will learn ethics as a yoga teacher, including teacher/student privacy, the importance of boundaries, and the professional role of the yoga teacher. Including the importance of serving and giving back in a yogic role.
Students can expect to embody a lifestyle and principals of Yoga based on Yamas and Niyamas, and learn Ayurvedic practices for self care.
