“True Yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life.” AADIL PACKHIVALA

Edi has been influenced by movement her whole life. Growing up in a family of movement educators and coaches (sports), she began her formal movement training early in gymnastics, figure skating and dance. A natural transition into teaching fitness classes in her twenties began Edi’s shift from sport to personal movement based practices. Edi discovered yoga in her thirties but it wasn’t until transitioning through a significant life change that yoga embraced her ~ “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” The Bhagavad Gita
Edi’s personal practice and teaching style is exploratory and somatic in nature. As no two bodies are alike, no two postures or movements are alike. Finding balance in the body is essential. Edi believes we need both gentle and strong practices to invite the body to remember what it is to rest and also what it is to grow. Whether a gentle or strong practice, Edi teaches through somatic inquiry; What are you aware of as you rest in stillness or as you move? How does sensation inform you? We are each our own best teacher if we are willing to listen from within and let go of preconceived ideas of perfection. When we listen deeply, allowing the body to inform us, it will learn to trust us again.
Edi is a Yoga Alliance E-RYT500 hour certified yoga teacher, a YACEP (yoga alliance continuing education provider) and holds certifications in Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Somatic Yoga, Mat Pilates, Reiki and as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (life coach).
Yoga came into my life as a method of recovery from physical injury and as much as it helped with that, the greater recovery was that of my self, my perspective and my minds peace. Yoga provided me with answers to questions I didn't know I wanted or needed to ask and it's practices to me are the best way to truly understand life. From the use of the breath to still the mind for a moment so we can hear the truth calling to us. To the understanding of the strengths and difficulties in our lives embodied in how we are able to use our bodies. I believe everyone and everything is your teacher, if you are looking to learn, and that yoga creates opportunity and space for us to become a life long student that only grows up and out in knowledge, understanding and compassion. I enjoy teaching classes that invite in deep full breath and explore the sensations of new movement; from energetically moving hatha flow to slow, sumptuous and relaxing restorative all in the same class, giving the body some movement and some extra oxygen to supply all that love to the body. Yoga is best enjoyed when looked at as a way to nourish the mind, body and soul, I am a big advocate of the idea that sometimes we have to stop pushing forward and allow ourselves to just be. We are meant to be just as we are right now!
Lynn began practicing yoga about 14 years ago as a way to complement long distance running and gain some flexibility. She fell in love with the practice and loved the quiet calmness it brought every time she stepped on her mat. No longer running, but active with bootcamp and hiking, yoga has become part of her life.
The desire to deepen her practice led her to complete her 200 hour training at Shibui Yoga under the direction of Leanne Kitteridge and more recently a restorative training with Carol Wray. Lynn is eager to continue learning, training and sharing her love of yoga with others. She taught a beginners series, gentle flow, and restorative classes at Riverwise Studio. Lynn believes yoga is for everybody and it is important to find a style of yoga that feels good in your body. She looks forward to seeing you in class!
Jasmin’s relationship with yoga began roughly 10 years ago. She had no idea what it meant to “do yoga”. “I now understand that yoga is so much more than stretching. It is a full experience of the mind body and soul. A connection to something beautiful”.
Jasmin completed her 200hr training with Marianne Wells in Costa Rica then went on to take her 500hr training with Healing Movements.
In Jasmin’s classes you will experience the 8 limbs of yoga. It is her goal to hold a judgment free space where students can grow. She uses an approach which is both gentle and strengthening, it is her goal for both student and teacher to be carrying their groceries at age 80.
Yoga is not about touching your toes.
It is about what you learn on your way down. ~ Jigar Gor
Maria is a devoted teacher and student of yoga. She teaches with a focus on increasing flexibility, strength and balance through stability. She encourages her students to be open and accepting of where they are today yet continuing to challenge them to strive beyond their boundaries. She teaches students to be observing of their own bodies and have greater alignment in their poses.
“My love of of Yoga brings me joy and an openness to learning. I wish to share this with others. When we are open and accepting of where we are today, it allows us to restore calm in our body, mind and soul so we can continue to grow.”
